At a recent meeting of the New South Wales Game Fishing Association a change to the use of circle hooks was passed. Effective from 30th July 2010 the new regulation is that 'Circle hooks only are permitted to be used for live baiting and trolling natural baits.'

It now mandatory that circle hooks be used for anglers fishing with live or dead baits, whether they are live baiting or skip baiting or cubing. This rule has now taken effect so please be aware of the changes.
