NEW RULES FOR HAMMERHEAD SHARKS

David Litchfield and Grahame Williams report that they met with NSW DPI
to talk to them regarding the moving of the great hammerhead and the
scallop hammerhead to the protected species list, and expressed their
disappointment of no consultation for relevant stake holders such as NSWGFA.
 
Basically NSW DPI explained that this is now law and the two
hammerhead species are protected and are not to be targeted,
you can still tag and capture smooth hammerhead, but
when tagging this fish make sure you
mark your paperwork smooth hammerhead.
 
 NSWGFA by-laws are being adjusted to allow for these changes.

The Southern Zone Cock O' the Walk Competition is underway and the results are published below.   Keep in mind the challenge and if you fish on the second or fourth weekend of the month make sure you forward on your capture and tag and release results to the recorder Ron De La Mare for inclusion in the monthly report for Bermagui's points.  The September, October, November and February results are...
